A person fatally struck by a westbound NJ Transit train caused a 15 minute delay for most of the morning commute on the Northeast Corridor Line.

NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith told New Jersey 101.5 a 6:35 a.m. train out of New York Penn Station struck an adult male around 7:35 a.m. between New Brunswick and the Jersey Avenue station.  NJ Transit Police are investigating the incident and have not yet identified the victim.

Smith said 300 passengers on board the train were transferred to another train and were not injured.
