The house in Lewes was home to was home to Earl Bradley, a pediatrician convicted of raping 103 children, some as young as 3 months old. Bradley captured the acts on video, according to WBOC TV. He's often referenced in media as the "worst pedophile in history."

The home was donated to a church, but the church had difficulty selling it due to the stigma of Bradley's ownership and proposed it be demolished, the report said.

The home, however, is located in the Delmarva area's historic district and regulations prohibit demolition, according to the station. The church request for an exception to be granted because "because Bradley's heinous acts were so unparalleled in American history" was turned down by the Lewes Historic Preservation Commission in April

Realtor Kathy Engel told Delware 105.9 a New Jersey couple paid more than the asking price of $225,000 and will close on the home on Aug. 4.

The couple, whose identity she did not disclose, has been following the property for about five years and has some major renovations planned for the home that are within the guidelines of the historic district, Engel told the radio station.
