A shark was discovered on the Queens bound N train yesterday.

From yesterday's post by Matt Ryan,

According to the MTA, the dead shark was found around 12:30 a.m. today. The conductor isolated the car and the train continued on to Ditmars Boulevard where a supervisor put the shark in a garbage bag and threw it out in the trash.

The train car was then put back into service, but not before some passengers posted pics to Instagram. Brian Sanchez wrote “Gotta love NYC…casual dead shark on the subway…#NYC"

The mystery as to how the shark got there has been solved.

According to the New York Post, after being discovered by a family in Coney Island,

Chris Landros, a 31-year-old Brooklyn man said that he thought the fish was such a fine specimen, he decided to take it home to study it.

In order to display the dead shark in public, Landros decided to take his new finned friend for a ride on public transit.

He eventually left it on the N train for everyone to enjoy. And he was upset when he found out that the MTA had discarded his prized fish — even though some said it stunk to high heaven.
