Music teacher accused of bus stop lewdness

DENVILLE (AP) — Police have charged a part-time music teacher at Morris Catholic High School with lewdness.

Officers arrested 33-year-old John Watson of North Brunswick after they say he was seen masturbating while watching children at a bus stop in Denville on Tuesday.

Police Capt. Paul Nigro tells the Daily Record of Parsippany Watson has done this at least three other times.

A spokesman for the Diocese of Paterson tells the newspaper Watson resigned after his arrest. Rich Sokerka says his criminal background check came back clean prior to his employment.

Watson declined comment when the newspaper reached him by telephone.
