Longtime South Jersey firefighter Roger Lippincott died on Sunday when his lawnmower caught fire.

Lippincott, of the Jobstown section of Springfield Township, also served as the emergency management coordinator for the Burlington County community, according to NBC 10. He died from severe burns suffered at the home on Saylors Pond Road.

"We will miss him around town, at school board meetings, kids games, etc," posted Kimberly Cooper Ramalho.

"RIP Cheif Lippinincott. Such a great guy. From when I ran out of MT. Holly. Thoughts and prayers for his family and to the brothers and sisters of the Springfield fire department," wrote Walt Sweeney. Many others simply sent thoughts and prayers.

Springfield Township Fire Company Chief Brian Kokotajlo said Lippincott was the second retired Springfield Township firefighter to die in a fire-related accident within the last two years, NBC 10 reporterd.
