I figured once Snooki had the baby, life as she knew it would end; and she’d have to trade the waterbed (or whatever the hell she “shmushed” on) for a pack n’ play!

Not that I’d miss it. Never could really watch it and not feel like brain cells were dying.

And never understood the attraction of the show…making stars out of a bunch of “citrulls”.(trans: cucumbers, idiots!)

But that’s TV in 2012.

Question is, have we really learned anything from it…and will you miss it!

MTV announced today that the series will end after its sixth season, which premieres Oct. 4.

MTV said it will start farewell programming next Thursday with a one-hour retrospective to be called "Gym, Tan, Look Back."

The series, which has followed a group of self-proclaimed "guidos" and "guidettes" from the Jersey Shore to Italy, made stars of characters Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Jennifer "J WOWW" Farley. It has given us new phrases such as as "grenade" (an unattractive person) and "GTL" (gym, tan, laundry).

The decision comes as cast members grow up: Polizzi has just given birth to a son and The Situation recently completed a stint in rehab.

The cast will continue to be featured on other MTV shows titled "Snooki and JWOWW" and "The Pauly D Project."

Will this mean that Mike will no longer be making his sojourns to the Freehold Raceway Mall in search of anyone to recognize him (a la Sally Field in "Soap Dish")…and how long will that last?

Sad!

What will come of little baby Lorenzo Dominic?

Why the hell do I even care?

And as an ancillary question, what's the biggest "brain dead" TV show you've ever followed?
(Go ahead, admit it! You're a fan of BigAng!)

Now that MTV has announced the end of Jersey Shore, will you miss it?
