Interstate 78 Reopens Following Tractor Trailer Fire
Interstate 78 has been reopened following a truck fire and spill in Hunterdon County.
The left lane gets by westbound between #15 (Route 173) and #13 (Rupell Road) with delays back to at least #24 (Route 523).
The truck that caught fire was carrying a load of diapers according to a tweet by New Jersey State Police.
The truck also spilled 150 gallons of diesel fuel according to WABC TV.
Routes 31, 626, 173 and 513 are also feeling the effect of the closure with northbound delays exiting at #17
Route 22 is not an ideal alternate route to the delay according to New Jersey Traffic North's Bob Williams as Route 22 merges with I-78 before #17 (Route 31).
