Donation drives around the state continue to see a huge outpouring of support in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. But what about staples of the holiday season? Will they be able to keep their missions going? Like many drives in New Jersey, there will be a noticeable change in the focus.

It's something many charities are dealing with right now. The need for donations goes beyond toys for kids during the holidays. People need food, clothing, toiletries and items they normally are able to get on their own. For the last 11 years, Kevin Burger of the Manchester Township School District has been hosting Kevin's Kids, an annual Christmas Toy Drive. This year, they are looking at being able to supply the usual mission plus more.

Burger calls this "a real life drive. This isn't just about toys and monetary donations as it has been in year's past. People out there need some of the most basic of needs and we will be able to collect and distribute the goods given out of the kindness of our friends and neighbors."

You can make checks out to the Manchester Township Middle School with a notation of Kevin's Kids in the memo section. Your contribution can be mailed to the Middle school at:

Manchester Township Middle School

2759 Ridgeway Rd.

Manchester, NJ 08759

Or can be dropped off at any district school. Donations for this year are needed by December 14.
