West Windsor Police on Tuesday morning received a call from the area of Manor Ridge Drive for a dog running around. According to a press release, the dog eagerly jumped into the back of a cruiser and was taken to Weber's Boarding Facility in Princeton where his microchip was activated and the Cruz family of Hillsborough was contacted.

“The dog jumped right into the back of his patrol car and was more than happy to go for a ride,” Lt. Robert Garofalo said.

Myra Cruz answered the phone and thought is was an April Fool's prank as Wesley, the family's Labrador Retriever was last seen in November, 2012. After being assured by the dispatcher that the it was their dog the family went to West Windsor Police Headquarters for a reunion with Wesley.

In a video of the reunion posted by West Windsor Police on their Facebook page the family and Wesley were very happy to see each other again. There's no word on where Wesley may have been for the past 17 months.
