Hess planning to sell its landmark building in Woodbridge
WOODBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) -- A landmark commercial building in central New Jersey is now on the market.
The Home News Tribune reports that Hess plans to sell its towering 10-story office building off Route 9 south in Woodbridge Township, along with more than 50 acres of land.
Township Mayor John McCormac recently said the building -- which is visible from the New Jersey Turnpike and features bold green letters spelling Hess -- has drawn "tremendous interest" from developers across the nation.
But it's not clear if a sale is imminent.
McCormac said the potential sale gives the town an opportunity to redefine its downtown area with a mix of retail space, restaurants, office space and high-end housing.
