NPR posted a story about a South Korean video gamer who recently applied for, and got, a visa that is for "internationally recognized athletes".

I had seen something similar to that a couple of months ago on "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel" when Soledad O'Brien went to the Staples Center in Los Angeles where over 13,000 people paid to watch the League of Legends championships. They get sponsorship money and people pay to watch them, so they're definitely professional gamers, but are they professional athletes?
