Feds Subpoena Hoboken Over Christie Claims
The U.S. Attorney's Office has issued a subpoena to the city of Hoboken about allegations Mayor Dawn Zimmer made about top officials in Chris Christie's administration.
Zimmer spokesman Juan Melli says the subpoena was issued Friday and is seeking documents. Melli says Hoboken is cooperating.
Earlier this month Zimmer alleged that Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno issued her an ultimatum tying the city's Sandy recovery funds to her support for a private development project. Zimmer says a second administration official also tied the money to support for the project.
Zimmer says Guadagno told her the proposition was a direct message from Christie.
Zimmer met with federal prosecutors last week.
A spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's office declined to comment.
