Winter has arrived after record-breaking temperatures on the last day of fall in New Jersey.

The daily high in Atlantic City reached 63 degrees, breaking the old record of 62 set in 1923. It was 62 in Newark Wednesday, one degree warmer than the daily record set in 1957.

Warm air from the south is the reason. Meteorologist Greg Heavener doesn't think there's a chance Thursday's record of 65 will be broken on the first day of winter because cold air has moved in from the west.

Heavener says there's not much chance for a white Christmas in New Jersey.

However, the forecaster says the holiday might be windy and there's the possibility for a wet Christmas later in the day or evening.
