Emergency Vehicle Convoy Rolls Through Ocean County
Don't be alarmed if you see a larger than normal number of emergency vehicles on Ocean County's roadways this morning. The New Jersey Office of Emergency Management says it's part of a three-day drill by its Technical Search and Rescue Team that starts Tuesday and runs until the Thursday.
Ocean County commuters and residents may see a convoy of emergency response vehicles around the Garden State Parkway, Route 37, Route 539 and Route 70 during the morning commute, as the NJTF-1 "Red Team" begins to deploy. Officials say the vehicles will likely be on the roadways from 6 a.m. until 8 a.m.
New Jersey Task Force One provides advanced all-hazard search and rescue capabilities to victims trapped or entombed in structurally collapsed buildings.
