Egg Harbor Township police say the crash on Zion Road occurred around 1:35 p.m. Monday. They say a sport utility vehicle driven by a 17-year-old township girl failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with a car driven by a 17-year-old Somers Point boy.

It was not immediately clear how many people were in each car.

Police say two of the injured juveniles suffered moderate injuries, while the other six had less serious injuries. But further details on their conditions were not disclosed.

Traffic was detoured for about an hour while the crash was investigated and cleared.
