Authorities say a motorist allegedly involved in a drug deal in a Brick  parking lot rammed an unmarked police car and nearly struck an officer when police approached his vehicle.

Joseph Misyack of Lakewood remained jailed Saturday on $150,000 cash bail, one day after he was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and several drug offenses.

Brick police tell the Asbury Park Press that the incident occurred when two township officers approached cars operated by the 29-year-old Misyack and another man. Misyack eventually fled the scene and later abandoned his vehicle, but was captured a short time later in a nearby wooded area.

Authorities say he was found with a bag containing roughly 1,600 bags of heroin and $800 in cash.
