Authorities are searching for the driver of a sport utility vehicle accused of hitting and killing a man on a bicycle in New Brunswick.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce Kaplan says Leonel Hernandez was riding the bike home around 11 p.m. Wednesday from Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he worked as a custodian.

The prosecutor says a dark-colored Toyota 4Runner built between 1995 and 2002 struck the 26-year-old husband and father of twoyoung children on Georges Road and took off.

The prosecutor says the SUV sustained damage to the driver's side and the driver's side rear window was shattered.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.
