    Though it's only been open since 2004, Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic Station has been named a top-50 municipal course in the United States, and has rates under 70 dollars for unregistered members.

    The Architects Golf Club

    Located in Lopatcong, Architects Golf Club owners Dennis & Larry Turco wanted to pay tribute to all of the brilliant golf course architects in the world. The course also offers a great All You Can Play twilight discount for 30 dollars after 5 pm.

    Mercer Oaks Golf Course

    Mercer Oaks in West Windsor has both a traditional and links style course with amenities that make it seem like it's a private course. With rates at 50 dollars for non-county members, and 27 for those in Mercer County, it's a great bang for your putt, I mean buck.

    Hominy Hill Golf Course

    Located in Colts Neck, Hominy Hill has hosted two USGA National Amateur Public tournaments and was ranked in the Top 10 Best Public Courses in the State by Golf.com. This is a stunning course that's great for both novices and so-called-experts.

    Originally designed to be a private course, Mattawang in Belle Mead has been rated as the best bargain golf course in the state, one in which Jack Nicklaus still has the course record.
