Dennis spots a whale along the Jersey Shore

Most people don't think of taking a boat ride off the Jersey coast in mid-November, unless you're a striped bass fisherman.

There were hundreds of boats off the beach from Lavallette to Long Branch. We boated two decent stripers. That's my friend Mike with a nice 20 pounder, but the highlight of the morning was the sighting of at least three humpback whales just off Ocean Grove around 8 am.

I managed to catch a little on video and we almost accidently caught one on our line! Yes, that's right where you swim in the summer.
