ATLANTIC CITY (AP) — Hundreds of Atlantic City casino workers plan to rally on the Boardwalk against the planned shutdown of the Trump Taj Mahal and billionaire investor Carl Icahn's role in the process.

Local 54 of the Unite-HERE union plans to march Wednesday night from the Taj Mahal to the Tropicana — which Icahn owns — to protest the planned Dec. 12 closure of the Taj Mahal.

It would become the fifth of Atlantic City's 12 casinos to close this year.

Trump Entertainment Resorts plans to hand itself over to Icahn in return for him forgiving $286 million in debt he owns. Icahn has said he will invest $100 million into the casino, but only with substantial state aid that thus far has not materialized.
