Camden man admits sexual assaults of 2 young girls

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — A southern New Jersey man has admitted that he sexually assaulted two young girls in separate and repeated incidents.

Camden County prosecutors say 63-year-old Ronald Furman, of Camden, pleaded guilty Friday and now faces 10 years in prison when he's sentenced Feb. 27. His plea was made public on Monday.

Furman admitted that he sexually assaulted one victim from June 1993 to April 1996 in Lawnside. The abuse in that case began when the girl was 8.

Furman also admitted to sexually assaulting a girl in Camden from September 2012 until June 2013. That victim was 5 when those assaults began.

The crimes against both victims were reported to Camden County Police in June 2013.
