A bandit who robbed and assaulted a worker at a southern New Jersey post office has been sentenced to nearly 20 years in federal prison.

Forty-eight-year-old Lord Beyah of Buena, who also known as Chance Burgess, also must serve five years of supervised release once he's freed. The federal term imposed Friday will run consecutively to a 10-year state prison term he's started serving in August on a weapons charge.

Beyah admitted he was armed with a knife when he jumped over the counter of the Hamilton Township post office in July 2010. He then demanded and received money from a female employee -- the only person in the building at the time -- before demanding that she open the post office safe.
