PATERSON, N.J. (AP) -- A suspect in the deadly shooting of a 12-year-old girl who was hit by a stray bullet while riding a scooter in northern New Jersey has had his bail lowered to $2 million cash.

But a lawyer for Jhymiere Moore says his client can't post that amount.

Moore's bail was set at $3 million after he was arrested on murder and weapons offenses. But The Record reports a judge agreed to reduce it during a hearing held Monday.

Moore's lawyer, Harley Breite, said his client isn't a flight risk, does not have a passport and turned himself in. The 19-year-old Paterson resident has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Passaic County prosecutors argued that high bail is justified because the killing of Genesis Rincon is a very serious crime.
