Authorities are investigating why the aircraft crashed Saturday just outside of Newcomerstown, Ohio, about 100 miles south of Cleveland.

A spokesman for the National Transportation Safety Board tells WTOV-TV that the last communication from the plane came about five minutes before it disappeared from the radar. He says the impact of the crash buried the engine several feet in the ground.

A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration says investigators will look for witnesses to help determine what happened.

The State Highway Patrol said 59-year-old Emil Bisaccia  died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
