Army Recruiter Accused Of Having Child Porn

Authorities in New Jersey have charged an Army recruiter in New York City with possession and distribution of child pornography.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray says police searched 29-year-old Andre DeMelo's Newark apartment Tuesday.

Murray says officers found images and videos of underage girls on his laptop computer.

DeMelo faces 5 to 10 years in prison if convicted.

His first court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 15. It's not clear whether he has hired a lawyer.
