Andy, Barney, Nico and Diesel need forever homes [NJ Pets of the Week]

NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League and Friends of EMAS (Edison Municipal Animal Shelter) to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes. Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Adopt  Andy

Andy is a friendly young cat who loves to be petted and will affectionately nuzzle you. He is very playful and enjoys climbing in our cat play area. Most of all, Andy would love his very own home and a person to snuggle up with. He's neutered, up-to-date on  vaccinations and FIV and FeLV negative.

Adopt Barney

Barney, a 8-year-old Labrador retriever mix, was found with another dog on Iowana Avenue in Ewing. Barney has a calm personality, is well-behaved and is very healthy.  He does pull on his leash, but is very good at taking correction and will walk nicely if you are consistent.

Adopt Nico

Nico is a very sweet female Chihuahua mix. Her elderly owner is moving to senior housing where unfortunately and very reluctantly, she can't take her best friend with her. Nico'€™s owner is hoping that someone will find it in their heart to open their home to this wonderful girl. She likes to cuddle, is very playful and is good with other dogs. Nico is about 8 years old and weighs about 20 pounds.  She's housebroken and crate trained. She is up-to-date with her rabies shot and is spayed. Nico is temporarily living in a foster home with another dog until a permanent loving home can be found for her.

Adopt Diesel

Diesel’s the name, and playing is his game. When he's in the mood to play, just about anything can be a toy. Diesel would love to show you just how playful he can be so please come visit him at the EASEL trailer. You’ll quickly fall in love with his sweet disposition, and when you look into his eyes, your heart will melt. Diesel's a great little guy, and he deserves the best.
