Motorists are seeing slightly lower prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of regular gasoline in New Jersey on Friday was $3.31, down a penny from last week.

But that's still much higher than it was a year ago, when motorists were paying $2.73.

Meanwhile, the national average price dropped 3 cents to $3.42.

That's also much higher than the national average from a year ago,

which was $2.81.

Analysts say the lower prices at the pump came despite slightly higher crude oil prices, which have risen recently due to higher demand in some areas and encouraging U.S. economic news.
