Newark police say the 37 Line bus was traveling from Newark Liberty International Airport to the city's Ivy Hill section when the crash occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Monday in the area of Wainwright Street and Lyons Avenue.

But investigators say it's not yet clear what caused the accident.

Authorities say the 31 people aboard the bus were taken to hospitals for evaluation and treatment. Two people had suffered broken bones, but none of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

Further details on the injured people have not been disclosed.

An NJ Transit spokeswoman said the driver was "a little shaken up," but did not release the driver's name.
