Salem City Fire Chief John Ayars tells the South Jersey Times the crash occurred Sunday, about a quarter of a mile from the Penn Salem Bridge.
Ayars says two of the six people on board the boat ended up in the Salem River. They suffered "traumatic injuries" to their heads, shoulders and legs, but further details were not disclosed.
It's not yet known what caused the accident, which is under investigation by the state police.
