12 NJ people who look WAY too happy about getting arrested

There's something to be said about looking on the bright side of a situation.

Sure, you may be in jail, facing serious charges. But at least you've got a new Facebook photo.

New Jersey 101.5 peaked at some recent arrest records and found something surprising — quite a number of people smirking, smiling and outright beaming in their booking photos.

It's not like some of them aren't in real trouble. Herbert Samuels, for instance, is charged with simple and aggravated assault on a police officer. Richard Jarry's facing several charges — including aggravated asault with a deadly weapon, making threats to kill and possessing a weapon for unlawful purpose.

That's after he was sentenced to probation in September for violating a restraining order, and after he was arrested in April for allegedly attacking his own mother.

Some of the other charges are a bit simpler. Zachary Dention got booked for allegedly not having his car inspected.

But still — they all look pretty happy to be exactly where no one really wants to wind up.
