JERSEY CITY — Two people on a motorcycle were killed in a crash on Route 440 early Friday morning.

ABC7 Eyewitness News reported the motorcycle hit a truck on the southbound side at Culver Avenue, in front of the Hudson Nissan car dealership, around 2:15 a.m.

A witness told NBC New York a man and woman were riding the motorcycle, and the witness heard an explosion and saw flames.

All lanes were closed for cleanup and investigation of the crash. The northbound lanes reopened around 6:30 a.m., and the southbound side around 7 a.m.

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office has not yet released information on the crash.
