Jeb Bush has resigned all of his board memberships in a continuation of the process that he began earlier this month when he announced plans to actively explore the White House bid.

His spokesperson calls the move 'the next natural step.'

Meanwhile, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said he is moving closer to a decision on whether to go for the GOP nomination.

While Rubio said it is not a gut decision, he plans on declaring his intentions soon.

The two politicians from Florida would pose tough competition for Gov. Chris Christie on the Republican side.

Christie continues to mull his own decision for 2016 and is expected to make an announcement on the issue early this year.
