Tribune Broadcasting is warning Dish subscribers in markets around the country that they may lose access to Tribune's local television programming and the cable network WGN America Sunday evening, when a contract between the companies expires.

Tribune Broadcasting, a division of Chicago-based Tribune Media Co., says it runs 42 television stations and provides programming in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, WPIX in New York and Houston, among other markets.

The company said Saturday in a statement that it wants to reach a new agreement with Dish, but Tribune did not say whether the two companies were still talking.

Dish Network Corp. representatives did not immediately return calls from The Associated Press seeking comment.

The contract will end Sunday at 7 p.m. EDT.
