The tolls will be free eastbound from noon until midnight at the Pleasantville and Egg Harbor toll plazas each Tuesday during the month of October.

The free tolls are part of a promotional campaign by the Atlantic City Alliance, a non-profit destination marketing organization for Atlantic City, to highlight midweek hotel, dining, gaming and entertainment deals.

Melanie Sole, a spokeswoman for the Atlantic City Alliance, said visitors will find a number of special offers. "We've compiled a bunch of different promotions and deals that are available on Tuesdays, and throughout the fall."

The deals are designed to give visitors an Atlantic City experience at a wallet-friendly price.

As the fortunes of Atlantic City's casino industry has been slipping, with four casinos shutting their doors since January, the Atlantic City Alliance has been working to change the face of the resort to one that is more family and shopping-friendly.
