The NJ Connection to Super Bowl XLVII
The Super Bowl will be played in New Jersey next year, despite what Raven quarterback Joe Flacco has to say.
But there is a Jersey connection to this year’s “Big Game” which includes the Ravens quarterback himself. There are 4 Ravens with ties to New Jersey.
Joe Flacco was born and raised in Audubon and played at Audubon High School,
Bryant McKinnie was born and raised in Woodbury and played ay Woodbury High School
Ray Rice was a two time All America second team honoree and 2007 winner of the Doak Walker Award finalist as the nations top running back while playing at Rutgers.
Alex Silvestro was born and raised in Gibbstown Nj, played at Paulsboro High School where he was named the Philadelphia Inquirer’s South Jersey Athlete of the Year as a senior, then a 4 year letterman at Rutgers.
The 49ers have one player representing New Jersey and that would be Anthony Davis who was born and raised in Piscataway and was a USA Today first team All American playing at Piscataway High School then an All American at Rutgers.
