The scenic Hacklebarney is home to more than a hundred bird and wildlife species.

The park features trails that offer incredible views of the Black River and brooks. Smaller waterfalls are viewable from the high trails.

This beginner's hike is about 3.4 miles round trip, according to NJHiking.com.

Parts of these popular trails are paved or graveled. There are more than 100 picnic tables sprinkled throughout the trails.

Bike riding is not permitted but you can bring the family dog, so long as you keep it leashed. Public restrooms are available for the little ones who unexpectedly have to go.

HOURS, PRICES, LOCATION

There is no charge for parking or admission and the park is open daily from dawn to dusk.
