October 24th, 1977 - Keith Richards was charged and fined after admitting to having cannabis, Chinese heroin, Quaalude tablets and a revolver at his home in Chelsea, UK. Later that same day, Keith and girlfriend Anita Pallenberg accidentally set fire to their London hotel bedroom...

October 10th, 1970 – A song originally written for a bank advertisement makes its way to No.2 on the singles chart today. The Carpenters had re-recorded ‘We’ve Only Just Begun,’ first done by Freddie Allen. The successful ad played Allen’s version over footage of a young couple getting married and was made for Crocker National Bank in California.

June 27th, 1967 - Mick Jagger is arrested for possession of drugs found in his jacket at a party hosted by Keith Richards. He was issued prison number 7856 and held overnight at Lewes Jail in England. While staying the night he requested books on Tibet and modern art, plus two packs of cigarettes.

October 11th, 1989 – Michael Jackson attends a ceremony for the opening of the Michael Jackson Auditorium at his former elementary school in Hollywood, California.

April 12th, 1967 - Mick Jagger receives a punch to the face by an airport official at Le Bourget Airport in France. Jagger had lost his temper when The Rolling Stones were all searched for drugs. The ordeal resulted in The Stones missing their flight.

October 12th, 1994 - Pink Floyd plays the first of a 15-night run at Earls Court, London, England. Less than a minute after the band started playing ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’, scaffolding holding 1200 fans, collapsed, dropping hundreds of people 20 feet to the ground...

August 23rd, 1967 - While celebrating a wild birthday party at a Holiday Inn, The Who's drummer Keith Moon accidentally drives a car into the hotel swimming pool. Moon was attempting to avoid having to talk to police who had arrived to break up the party...

April 27th 1966 -  The Beatles use a cool new technique in a recording session at Abbey Road studios. It was in John Lennon's song 'I'm Only Sleeping,' they used a reversed guitar duet played by George Harrison.
