Where has this been all my life?

For some reason, 2011 was the year of self-serve frozen yogurt. Franchises popped up everywhere in New Jersey, which tells me I'm not the only one who's obsessed.

For those of you who haven't experienced the thrill yet, I'll explain. You walk in, grab a cup, fill it yourself with your choice of yogurt flavor (options from vanilla to pumpkin to cheesecake to banana pudding), and top it yourself with as many toppings you'd like. The self-serve spot by me has an estimated 75 toppings to choose from, and some toppings are ones you could only dream of (Cocoa Puffs, fresh brownie bites, and those little chocolate crunchies from ice cream cake). Holy crap.

Then you pay by the ounce. Take my advice - never fill your whole cup! You could end up paying $12.00 for one cup of yogurt. After several, several, several trips, I learned one could purchase an adequate amount of yogurt + toppings for less that $4.00.

Last night, my family took over the shop. Six of us entered and paid just under $20.00. Thanks "10% off" coupon. My yogurt: chocolate mint with cake crunch, Reese's Pieces, peanut butter cups, and chocolate fudge. I'm on a diet.
