Search is on: NJ man with Alzheimer’s goes missing after hike

BERLIN BOROUGH — Police in South Jersey are looking for a missing elderly man in the early stages on Alzheimer's who did not come back from hiking.

John Anderson Sr., 79, went hiking Monday afternoon and had not been seen since early in the afternoon, according to Berlin Borough police. Police said he was driving a 2002 silver Ford Ranger pickup and used his gas card at a Sunoco gas station in Elmer around 6:10 p.m.

Anderson likes to hike in Voorhees and in Waterford around Burnt Mills, according to a message by Waterford Township police.

The truck has the New Jersey UGW53T with a Harley Davidson sticker in the back window.

Berlin Borough police ask anyone who knows Anderson's whereabouts to call 856-767-4700.
