Romney Hits Obama As ‘Outsourcer-In-Chief’

Mitt Romney is calling President Barack Obama the "outsourcer-in-chief" and says he is an "extreme liberal" who is trying to raise taxes on job creators.

The likely Republican presidential nominee on Tuesday said his Democratic opponent has outsourced jobs by offering government support to green energy companies that made some of their products overseas. It's the first time Romney has publicly hit back at the Obama campaign's charges that the former private equity executive bought companies that outsourced jobs to China and elsewhere.

Romney says that "if there's an outsourcer-in-chief, it's the president of the United States, not the guy who's running to replace him."

Romney also says Obama's proposal to extend tax cuts for people making $250,000 or less amounts to a tax increase for small businesses.

Meanwhile, Vice President Joe Biden is attacking Romney as a candidate with something to hide and who doesn't live up to the openness that Romney's father represented when he ran for president 44 years ago.

Biden tells Hispanic leaders that Romney's father, George Romney, released 12 years of tax returns when he unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination in 1968.

In excerpts of Biden's remarks, released by the White House, the vice president noted that Romney has released one year of his tax returns. The remarks underscored the Obama campaign's effort to portray Romney as secretive.

Biden, speaking to the National Council of La Raza, highlighted Romney's past hardline immigration stance. He said: "Mitt Romney wants you to show your papers, but he won't show us his."
