Romney made the accusation Tuesday afternoon during an address to the Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Reno, Nev. Romney calls the leak "contemptible" and says such action betrays the national interest, compromises troops in the field and demands a full and prompt investigation.

Romney says Americans have the right to know who — if anyone — in the White House shared classified details. Romney adds that an administration led by him would not reveal classified material for political purposes.

Obama addressed the VFW audience on Monday.
