JERSEY CITY — One of the best ways into New Jersey from New York is via the Lincoln Tunnel. Just not on a bicycle.

Hicham Oulhint, 26, of Jersey City said he was working for Uber while making a food delivery on a bicycle Tuesday night to West 22nd Street in Manhattan when he followed the suggestion of his phone's app to enter the tunnel westbound, taking him through the mile-and-a-half connection to Weehawken, authorities said.

Spokesman Joe Pentangelo said that Oulhint showed police the app, which confirmed his claim.

Port Authority Police stopped Oulhint on the Jersey side and gave him a summons for defiant trespassing. He was released and has a future court date in Weehawken.

Bicycles are not allowed to travel through the Port Authority's tunnels on either the roadway or the sidewalk.
