Hunter's Hope was created by former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly and his wife, Jill, in honor of their late son, Hunter. It's dedicated to funding research to treat and cure Krabbe leukodystrophy.

The foundation's website says the Western New York Amateur Football Alliance also will receive $500,000 to create a safe environment for young football players.

The latest donations follow more than $10 million announced last month, including $4 million to University at Buffalo sports-medicine initiatives and $4.2 million to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

The foundation plans to distribute over $1 billion from the sale of the Bills.
Wilson, the team's former owner, died last year at age 95.
