Prepare your ears: Trev expresses Anthem stance in song
As we come to another football week here in New Jersey, expect the story to be not only about the game but about who did what during the playing of our National Anthem.
With all the concern about about the stance, I figured I'd take a different angle and rewrite the song since some have a problem with that. Albert Brooks tried it once:
Robert Klein talked about how hard it is to sing.
So here goes, my opinion of everyone else's opinion of the stance during the National Anthem. Feel free to sing along:
DID YOU SEE ME TAKE A KNEE?
WE COULD REALLY CARE LESS
YOU CAN SIT OT STAND OR KNEEL
WHATEVER YOU FEEL IS THE BEST
BUT FOR ME I CHOOSE TO STAND
AND SALUTE THIS GREAT LAND
BUT LET'S ALL BE AWARE
THAT OUR FLAG'S IS STILL THERE
OH SAY DOES THAT STAR SPANGLED BANNER YET WAVE
SO THAT WE CAN ALL BE FREE
TO DECIDE TO TAKE THAT KNEE
