Shawn Clyde remains in a hospital, held on $500,000 bail and charged with attempted murder.

The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office says officers arrived at an apartment in Hamilton Township on Wednesday night to find the 36-year-old repeatedly stabbing his father with a steak knife. The prosecutor's office says officers opened fire after Clyde ignored repeated orders to drop the knife.

Clyde's father and mother were taken to the hospital to be treated for stab wounds.

The investigation is ongoing.
