A jackknifed tractor trailer and an overturned dump truck in the woods shut down the southbound side between exit #4 (Route 73) and #2 (Route 322).

Repairs to damage from the accident have closed the right lane causing a 7 mile delay.

The tractor trailer struck the dump truck while trying to pass around 3:30 a.m. according to the Star Ledger. The impact caused the tractor trailer to jackknife and the dump truck went off the road and overturned in the woods.

All southbound traffic was forced to exit at #4 (Mt. Laurel) creating traffic on the surrounding roads.

The northbound lanes were open as normal the entire time.. Southbound traffic that got "stuck" when the road closed was allowed to move through the area around 7 a.m.

A medical helicopter removed the dump truck driver from the scene.

It's the second major closure of the road in south Jersey this week. A tractor trailer fire around exit 4 closed the road on Tuesday morning.
