Monroe Man Sentenced For Killing Landlady’s Daughter

A central New Jersey man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for fatally stabbing his landlady's daughter, who lived next door to him.

Warren Burkey of Monroe had pleaded guilty last month to a murder charge as part of a plea bargain with Middlesex County prosecutors. He was sentenced Tuesday.

Burkey admitted taking two knives from the kitchen of Theresa Wysokowski and stabbing her multiple times in her home in May 2010. Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the slaying.

The 34-year-old warehouse worker lived next door to Wysokowski, a 48-year-old married mother of three had become a grandmother shortly before her death.
