NEW JERSEY 101.5
Authorities say a man sought in connection with a stabbing at a northern New Jersey rooming home last week has been captured.
Union County prosecutors announced Tuesday that 34-year-old Alexander Kerton was arrested without incident when two city police officers saw him walking in a downtown area around 6:45 p.m. Monday.
Kerton faces aggravated assault charges stemming from a Friday afternoon confrontation at an Elizabeth rooming home where he had been staying. Authorities say he allegedly stabbed a fellow resident numerous times, but a motive for the attack has not been disclosed.
The 52-year old male victim remained hospitalized Tuesday in guarded condition.
Authorities continue to probe another stabbing that occurred at the same home last week. In that incident, a 67-year-old man was found stabbed to death.
