Roberto Grillo, the man accused of murdering a woman in her Rahway home last week, was free on bail after allegedly sexually assaulting a juvenile, NJ Advance Media reports.

It quoted Bloomfield Police Director Sam DeMaio confirming the sexual assault charge from February. After the alleged sex assault, Grillo fled to Florida, where he was caught and extradited back to New Jersey, the report quoted DeMaio saying.

After two months in the Essex County Correctional Facility, he was released on a $100,000 bond, the report said.

Grillo, 36, of Bloomfield, was charged with killing Yolanda Vega Dec. 7, according to the Union County Prosecutor's Office. It said Grillo knew the family, but didn't say how.

He was already in the Union County Jail when he was charged, having been arrested Dec. 6 after allegedly trespassing at the Phillips 66 Bayway Refinery in Linden, shortly after authorities believe he killed Vega.
