KEYPORT — A major fire raged through a industrial buildings, causing it to collapse late Friday afternoon, NBC New York reported.

Several firefighters were injured, the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office said, although the extent of their injuries was not clear.

Photos and video from the scene showed thick plumes of black smoke and massive flames ripping the building in this borough's downtown.

APP.com reported it was a medical building on West Front Street. Two other buildings also  were damaged.

The cause of the fire was not known Friday evening.

Other details were not immediately available.

Also Friday, firefighters in Ocean County were working to put out a junk yard blaze that closed a Garden State Parkway exit.
